At Emusic.com I created 2 different Affiliate Networks.
1) We had
hundreds of Internet Radio Affiliates.
That is, they were Internet Radio Stations that generated
income from the Ad Banners we placed on their sites.
I placed banners that were fed from ad brokers like Flycast
& Doubleclick and split the ad proceeds with them.
We also had MANY Internet radio stations of our own. Loudradio.com,
Jazzradio.com, Bluesradio.com, Punkradio.com... All but
Loudradio.com played only music that we
owned the rights to.
2) Hundreds
of downloadable music affiliates.
We hosted pages for each affiliate that had the look and
feel of their site. They linked to it as if it was there
own page.
They made money from both the Ad Banners as well as from
the downloadable music revenue.
