Direct shipment not to exceed 5 gallons (3.2 gallons if unsolicited gift) permissible once a year if permit obtained from Liquor Commission of the City and County of Honolulu, 650 South King Street, Honolulu 98614 ($5 fee). Individual may bring into the state up to one gallon of wine or brandy without permit. Any unlicensed adult may apply to the liquor commission for a permit to receive a single shipment of wine from outside the state for his own use and consumption; five gallon limit, and a nominal fee charged for the permit. The limit is 3.2 gallons if the shipment is an unsolicited gift.

Persons moving to Hawaii may bring into the state an amount greater than 5 gallons if such wine was of their own personal property and was bought and stored outside Hawaii provided that the liquor commission finds that it is reasonable to do so. (§7208)(¶¶(7206, 8007)(H.R.S. 281.33).
