Direct shipment of up to one gallon per year permitted. If transported by car the wine or brandy must remain in original package with seal unbroken. Importation of more than one gallon per year requires the procurement of an importing distributor's license or the written permission of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission.

Effective January 1, 1992 an adult resident or holder of an alcoholic beverage license in a state which affords Illinois licensees or adult residents an equal reciprocal shipping privilege may ship for personal use and not for resale, not more than 2 cases of wine (each case containing not more than 9 liters) per year to any adult resident of this State. The shipping container of any wine sent into or out of this State shall be clearly labeled to indicate that the package cannot be delivered to a person under the age of 21 years.
